Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia has passed away after battling esophageal cancer, leaving a lasting legacy in Fairfax County.
The Virginia Democrat announced last month that his esophageal cancerhad returned and that he would not seek re-election.
“That SALT cap increase, I think, upset a lot of conservatives,” said Rep. Andy Harris, the Freedom Caucus chair.
Mr. Connolly had announced late last year that he was being treated for cancer of the esophagus.
