Larry Johnson, welcome here. I want to talk to you about Iran’s response diplomatically, internationally to the Trump bombing. I also want to talk to you about what you wrote about early this morning, the Western attack on BRICS.
But before we get there, can we get to the bottom of this totally obliterate nonsense? The president repeated it yesterday. Hegseth repeated it over the weekend. They continue to insist that the United States bombing two Saturday nights ago “totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Is there any truth to this?
None whatsoever. We continue in the West to engage in these delusions. We do the same thing with respect to Iran. Its just lie built upon lie. And we’re deceiving ourselves. And to what end? In order to justify these conflicts and supporting a war of genocide in Palestine.
It all comes together. It’s all part of the same package. But this web of lies is massive.
Trump, hes all over the map. We’ve watched him go from I knew everything to his Sergeant Schultz imitation: I know nothing.
There was damage done in Iran, but it wasn’t devastating, and it wasn’t ending their ability to enrich uranium. We’ve been through this before, especially with the Stuxnet virus, developed jointly by the U.S. and Israel. It was meant to destroy Irans centrifuges, and it didfor about two to three weeks. Then they were back online, enriching uranium even more aggressively.
Theres always a gap between the expected success of these operations and reality. Trumps just spinning. Hes a salesman, pitching a lemon like its beachfront property.
There was already consensus in the intelligence community before the strike that Iran had moved the enriched uranium. So they knew they wouldnt hit anything vital.
This kind of top-down delusion forces intelligence analysts to lie just to maintain access. Its the same BS we saw during the Vietnam War and again with Ukraine. Intelligence gets twisted to support the policy rather than informing it.
This isnt about Trump or Biden. Its about systemic dysfunction.
And now, because of Trumps bombing, Iran is kicking out the IAEA. The U.S. just blinded itself. The intelligence community wont be able to assess what Iran is doing because the eyes and ears are gone.
More than that, IAEA datapossibly passed to Mossadwas used to assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists. Its a disgrace. Iran, a signatory to the NPT, was complying with inspections and even allowed 24/7 surveillance. Israel, meanwhile, is not a signatory and gets a free pass.
Iran inflicted serious damage on Israel during the 12-day war. They hit ports, oil refineries, and military targets, without going after civilians. Compare that with Israel leveling neighborhoods to hit a single target.
Iran could have hit the water supply but chose not to. That restraint says something.
The U.S. is clearly trying to crush BRICS. Countries are tired of the dollar-dominant system and the weaponization of sanctions. BRICS is growing fast, and Irans membership, with its oil and gas reserves, only strengthens it.
The U.S. wants a puppet in Tehran, a compliant Shah 2.0. But the Israeli surprise attack had the opposite effectit united Iranians across the political spectrum. They haven’t been this united since the U.S.-backed Iraq war of the 1980s.
Despite years of Western propaganda, Iran has not been the aggressor. Its Israel and the U.S. who have been carrying out assassinations and covert ops. And yet, Americans clutch pearls over “Death to America” chants without asking what Americas been saying and doing to Iran for decades.
Putin and Russia are watching this closely too. After drone attacks and assassination attempts, they see Israels hand in the destabilization campaign. Russias goal now is to finish Ukraine militarily and expose NATOs limitswithout starting World War III.
Western leaders are spinning the same old myths: that Russia invaded Georgia, that its imperialist, etc. Reality is more complex. And until we stop lying to ourselves, nothing changes.
